ZELDA BETH RAFAI
ROLE IN RAKO:
Dancer, Backup Singer
BIOGRAPHY:
Zelda Beth Rafai first joined the Rako Pasefika family back in 2014 as a student of Pacific and Contemporary Performing Arts. She auditioned in 2018 for a position on the Rako Pasefika team as a performing artist. After 2 months, Zelda progressed onto the Rako Pasefika Tour Party for 2018.
Zelda was introduced to dance at an early age because of her family’s cultural music background and she pursued this passion with the guidance of Rako in 2014. In 2018, after completing her high school studies at Saint Joseph Secondary school, she decided to continue following her passion for dance and audition as a performing artist for Rako.
Being part of Rako Pasefika has opened up many opportunities for her as a growing performing artist. Zelda performed for the Pacific Dance Festival at the Mangere Arts Centre, and was part of Pacific workshop sessions with various schools in Auckland New Zealand. She was also part of the San Francisco team to perform at the Global Climate Action Summit in front of world leaders and influencers. Dance has always been a big part of her life, it allows her to express who she is, what she feels and to tell stories of awareness through performances.
